How to contribute

MetaReligion will work in a similar way to MetaPagan and QuakerQuaker. All you have to do is post your blogpost (or someone else's) to delicious or magnolia using our special tag, metareligionrap, and it will automatically be pulled into the feed. It would also be useful if you tagged it with the name(s) of the religion(s) that the post is about, and the topic.

Etiquette

This is a place for discussing different religious beliefs and practices.

It is intended for friendly discussion to enable people to learn about religions other than their own. It is not for polemics or proselytising.

The best way to achieve this is to try, where possible,to confine yourself to explaining your own religion and beliefs (or lack of them). One of the main things to be avoided is telling other people what they believe, since they can speak for themselves and explain their own beliefs.

Creating an entry on delicious or magnolia

The description of your delicious or magnolia post should be [blogpost-name] « [blog-name], e.g. "Pagan Theodicy and the Book of Job « QuakerPagan Reflections". The tags must include metareligionrap for it to show up on our feeds.

The notes section of your post should be quite short -

• either a summary of the blogpost, e.g. "A meditation on the book of Job by a QuakerPagan"
• or a juicy quote from it, e.g. "After years of struggle to find a way to relate to the numen of the world, in a society that recognized only omnipotent monotheism as a legitimate religious possibility, I finally encountered Pagan expressions of love for the sacred, and a way forward. I found a way to embrace the gods--not omnipotent, not omniscient, and not moral absolutes of goodness, either; rather, beings that are good as existence is good, as a waterfall or a rock or a star is good."
